Carbon Steel ASTM A105N Forged Fittings contain higher levels of chrome and nickel compared to other metals, along with significant amounts of nickel and molybdenum. These fittings are highly resistant to crevice corrosion, pitting corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and inter-crystalline corrosion, eliminating the need for annealing or similar processes beforehand. Although they cannot be machined and must be altered using specialized equipment, they offer enhanced resistance to erosion. For optimal corrosion protection, it is recommended to use filler metals of similar or greater alloy composition. These fittings have the necessary resilience to withstand pitting and crevice rust.
